Duisburg is easily accessible from all directions with five motorways creating a dense network of connections throughout the entire city area.

Motorways A57, A59 and A3 cross the city on the North-South axis; the A40 and A42 on the West-East axis.

Düsseldorf International Airport is just on the doorstep with easy access via the A 59 or A 3 with connection to A 52 from Kreuz Breitscheid, as well as the B 8.

Duisburg is the hub of the European rail network. Both national and international rail connections and the Düsseldorf-Duisburg line intersect here to provide a fast link to almost all major cities in the populous Rhine-Ruhr region.

Public transport


Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft (DVG) is one of the 24 partners in the regional Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) public transport association. The DVG Customer Center at the bus station (main station) is the interface between local and regional public transport.
